Former Guests

Several internationally recognized directors have been presented at the Films from the South Festival throughout the years. We have tried our best to create an intimate atmosphere where the audience could meet the director and discuss his or her work. With knowledgable norwegian moderators we have introduced the work of many a true master of world cinema.

Former guests include Hirokazu Kore-eda, Shirin Neshat, Siddik Barmak, Carlos Reygadas, Raoul Peck, Fernando Solanas, Hana Makhmalbaf, Tran Anh Hung, Abbas Kiarostami,Tsai Ming-Liang, Shunji Iwai, Rodrigo Plá, Jonás Cuarón, Amos Gitaï, Jafar Panahi, Bahman Ghomadi, Havana Marking, Kim Longinotto, Lúcia Murat, King Ampaw, Maria Victoria Menís, Masahiro Kobayashi, Mark Lee Ping-bing and many others.
