The Heart of Jenin is a documentary about Israelis and Palestines today. When playing with a toy-gun on Palestine area, 12 year old Ahmed is shot by Israeli forces. At the hospital, while getting the death-message, his father decides to donate the organs of his son to needy, Israeli children. As a result five lives are saved. The film was nominated for Best Documentary Award during the European Film Awards in 2009.
Afghan Star is the story about how Afghanistan, a country where music and dance used to be strictly regulated, now meets it's own version of Idol: Afghan Star. A third of the people follow this show passionately, and the votes keeps pouring in. This is the closest thing to democracy many of the Afghani have come to know. We follow four contestants and their fans as they approach the grand finale. Afghan Star is a moving documentary that provides glimpses of an Afghanistan formerly unknown to us, a nation torn between tradition and modern ideal. The film won the Audience Award - World Cinema, Documentary during the Sundance Film Festival in 2009.
Supermen of Malegaon is a documentary taking place in the heart of India. Here we find the poor and somethimes restless village of Malegaon. To escape their harsh reality the people seek comfort in movies. A small group of film enthusiasts, who previously had success with Bollywood-inspired low budget movies, are now attempting to do Superman and Hollywood. While this new movie takes shape we get to know Malegaon, a microcosmos that reflects the contrasts and complexity of India, between poor and rich, the modern and the traditional. Supermen of Malegaon is a tribute to the courage and endless creativity of the film crew; this is the story of the supermen from Malegaon. The movie won the price for best documentary during the Asian First Film Festival in 2009.
