Films from the South's main prize is the Silver Mirror Award, and this year's award went to the South-Korean masterpiece The Housemaid by director Im Sang-Soo.

Here's what our jury had to say about the film.
The prize goes to a film that by elegant means manages to engage the audience all the way to its dramatic conclusion, with precise charachters and an unpredictable and exciting story. With its rare and violent climax it also manages to make us think about the underlying and deeply fundamented ethics of the film.

The rest of the awards went the following films:
Doc:Sør for best film in the Documentary Competition - Benda Bilili!, Renaud Barret, Florent de la Tullaye, France/DR Kongo.
FIPRESCI Award for best film in New Directions - A Brand New Life, Ounie Lecomte, South-Korea.
The Audience Award - Castaway on the moon, Lee Hae-jun, South-Korea.
Oslo Municipal Cinema's Marketing Award - Women without men, Shirin Neshat and Shoja Azari, Iran.
The Films From the South Honorary Award - Dag Asbjørnsen.
