This years favourite from the prestigious Un Certain Regard programme in Cannes is ready for the Films from the South festival.
Debutantes Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutro made an impression with their horror-light drama Hard Labor at the prestigious Un Certain Regard programme in Cannes 2011. This is one of the movies that were specially selected from Cannes by Aftenposten's filmcritic Kjetil Lismoen. Now it has been confirmed for the Films from the South section for 1st and 2nd time directors: New Horizons.
”In this important section we are looking out for new talents from the three continents,” says Lasse Skagen, artistic director at Films from the South. ”First and second films often define the further development of a director's career, and in Hard Labor I realize that we are going to see more of these directors the following years. Therefore, it is fun to present it to this year's festival audience”.
