This year's Films from the South profile is ready!

During the last years, Films from the South's designer Eiliv Gunleiksrud from the agency Saatchi & Saatchi has delivered colourful profiles for the festival and its audience. Now he is ready with this year's design.

Energy, sensuality and zest for life in a range of tropicana colours have been guidelines for the designer who stood behind last year's Woman on Fire-profile and the masterly design for Arabian Filmdays this year in march. A hot embrace in the Cuban animation Chico & Rita was the inspiration for this year's motif. The movie, which is a cool lovestory with lots of feelgood vibes, passion, groovy jazz music and tears, is ready for the main programme of Films from the South 2011. Gunleiksrud's palette works well with the development of the festival's profile for the coming years.

– Some people may see Films from the South as a place for grave and serious political themes, but variation and strong colours stand at the centre of the bouquet of movies on their way to the festival this year. Action, comedies and great tearjerkers have a natural space within a Films from the South programme, and you can find plenty of them in this years line-up, says artistic leader of Films from the South, Lasse Skagen.

Films from the South will open its doors on October 6th, but until then the audience will be served exciting filmleaks from a programme that comprises over 100 films from Asia, Africa and Latin-America.
