In February 2007, the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo published the Mohammed caricatures to show its support for Jyllandsposten. Several Moslem groups immediately sued the paper and its editor Philippe Val, and this documentary follows the case in the period before and during the trial. Even though filmmaker Daniel Leconte openly supports Val, witnesses and spokespersons from both sides are allowed to state their case. The film provides interesting reflections upon important themes like Islam, freedom of speech and fundamentalism, but is also an entertaining film with extensive use of caricatures and satirical drawings. ith
