Taqwacore is a documentary about the islamic hardcore scene that erupted in the wake of the novel Taqwacores. Convert and author Michael Muhammed Knight envisioned a subculture peopled by radical muslim punkers. Even though the book was fictional in every way, the social environment that developed was not.
