I arrived to the opening screening of FFS, Women without men, by Shirin Neshat.
The mandatory speeches were said and a very lovely poem set the mood to what was the beginning of a fantastic movie and night.

Shirin Neshats presented her film, stating that the allegorical tone of Iranian art, is the way of scape that artists found to the censorship their ideas are object of. Her film was moving, poetical and very political, with very well build characters, that don't say much but express a lot, and with a stunning cinematography, that goes beyond spaces and takes the story to the level of a profound look, of what women lives are thanks to men in a country like Iran.
After this beautiful film, we follow the torches to Fugazi, where the party was, I couldn't help feeling sorry for the people holding the torches under the rain, but I was a bit more relieve when I saw a few of them joining the party later, which was a very fun gathering of film fanatics and people involve with the film biz here in Oslo.
Thanks to this evening I'm all set in my "festival mood" and looking forward to the other films Film Fra Sør has discover for us.
