The Films From the South Foundation organizes the Sørfond Pitching Forum during the annual Films from the South festival in November in Oslo, Norway.

8 international film projects will be selected and invited to come to Oslo in November to pitch their projects to an audience of Norwegian producers.

The purpose of the Sørfond Pitching Forum is to give international main producers the opportunity to meet and partner up with a Norwegian co-producer, with the possibility of entering into a co-production agreement and apply production support from Sørfond the following year.

Organizer: Films from the South Foundation in cooperation with the Norwegian Film Institute.

The evalutation of the projects:
The assessment and selection of the applications shall be based on an overall assessment of artistic, production-related, economical and technical aspects of the project. Particular emphasis is placed on the purpose of SØRFOND and the project’s cultural identity, including the use of local languages and local shooting locations. Emphasis is also placed on the director’s and the producers’ experience, as well as the representation of women in key positions.

Candidates that are considered likely to be able to meet the eligibility requirements of Sørfond in time for the next deadline for production support in March will be prioritized.

The decision will be ready and announced on our website by early October.
