About the film

Rwanda, 2012. In the years after the genocide against the Tutsis, local communities across the country continue their work towards justice and reconciliation through local courts. Vénéranda, herself a survivor, leads conversations between victims and the families of the perpetrators, helping others to move forward. When she discovers that her own daughter is pregnant, she is forced to confront her own convictions. The film was the first Rwandan film to premiere at Cannes, where it won the Caméra d'Or, the Award for best debut feature at the festival.
