Get ready for this year’s festival!

This year’s program offers fantastic films, director visits, and exciting panel discussions. We’ve gathered some useful tips on how to make the most of the festival.

How do you navigate the program?

You can find the program overview by clicking on «Meny» at the top right of the website, then selecting «Program.» The films are automatically sorted by the festival’s different sections when you open the page. To see a list of all films alphabetically, select «Alfabetisk» from the dropdown menu on the left. For a chronological order, choose «Kalender,» which will display all screenings by date.

Please note that the program may be subject to changes. We strive to keep you informed about any updates.

Events, talks, and parties

Some of the festival screenings have events associated with them. Screenings with events are marked with a ticket icon and the event name beneath the screening time.

You can find the full event overview here.

In addition to panel discussions and parties, some films will also have introductions from partners before the screening or director talks with guests after the film. This means some screenings may run a bit longer. Therefore, it’s wise to allow extra time between films if you’re planning to watch multiple screenings in one day, especially if they are at different cinemas.

Sold-out screenings

Some of the festival’s screenings may sell out. When following ticket links to screenings and attempting to purchase a ticket, an error message may appear when trying to complete the transaction.

At Nordisk Film Kino, you can use the NFkino app to see how many tickets are left for certain screenings.

We continuously update the film pages as screenings sell out.

Rush Line

We prefer to avoid empty seats at our screenings. This means it’s possible to queue outside sold-out screenings and get a seat if someone doesn’t show up.

Therefore, if you have a ticket, it’s important to arrive well in advance of the screening. All screenings start on time.

Plan your festival week with «My Films»

If you’re planning to watch a lot of films, it’s a good idea to create an account and plan your festival route with the My Films feature.

  1. Start by creating a user account.
  2. Save all the films you want to see by clicking on the heart icon in the bottom right corner of the film image in the program overview, or to the right of the title/screening time on the film page.
  3. When you go back to «My Films,» all the films you’ve selected will appear here in chronological order.
If two screenings overlap, a warning will appear. You can then easily swap one of the screenings by clicking on «Screenings» under the film you want to replace and then clicking the heart next to another screening.

All screenings are marked with an end time, but please note that the film may finish a few minutes after the scheduled end time.

Do you have questions about tickets?

You can buy tickets by following the «Buy Ticket» link from the film pages. Tickets are purchased via the website of the cinema where the screening is held. This means that if you need to refund a ticket, you’ll have to contact the cinema directly.

There is open seating during the Films from the South festival, meaning you can sit wherever you like once you enter the theater. This also makes it easy to attend the festival with friends without needing to buy tickets at the same time.

You can find more information about everything related to tickets here.

Age limits and subtitles

You can easily find this by checking the individual film’s page and scrolling down to the technical information section. Here, you’ll find details about the film’s language as well as the language of the subtitles.
