Information

Programme

Films From the South 2021 will take place 11th – 21st of November, across select venues in central Oslo. Check back here for more information real soon – and take a look at the titles we have released so far right here.

Infection Prevention

The Oslo Festival Agency (Stiftelsen Festivalkontoret) takes infection prevention seriously at all our festivals Films from the South, Oslo Pix and Arab Film Days, as well as our other events. We work closely with the responsible organizers, cinemas and venues who screen our films. It is safe to attend film festivals!

Stay home if you have respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, headache, decreased sense of smell or taste, muscle aches, sore throat or if you feel sick in general. Stay at home if you have been abroad during the last 10 days (in "red" areas) or have had close contact with someone who has been confirmed with Covid-19 or a member of your family is likely to have covid-19.

Distance between seats:

All our venues follow the authorities' order for distance, and you will therefore be placed with distance to other audiences. If you want to sit together and are in the same household, you must order tickets together. We ask that you sit in your assigned seat.

Cleaning:

Extra time is added between each screening to disinfect the cinema hall.

Crowding:

Extra time is added between each screening to avoid congestion in foyers, kiosks, etc. Remember that you are responsible to keep distance to others, at least one meter.

Infection tracking:

All participants in a screening or event must register with contact information upon buying the tickets. The cinemas and venues will store the contact information for 10 days. This information will not be stored by Festivalkontoret.

Ticket sales:

We kindly ask you to purchase tickets online, to avoid crowding at the cinemas. Together we contribute to a safe festival!

Follow the general safety measures:

- If you feel unwell or have respiratory symptoms, stay home.
- Wash your hands often and use disinfectant where available.
- Keep at least 1 meter distance from others at all times.
- Use a paper towel or your elbow hook when you need to cough or sneeze.

The Covid-19 regulations are available in Norwegian here.

Accessability

All the festival cinemas are wheelchair accessible. Contact the cinemas directly if you have any questions.

You can find information about each film’s subtitles on the film page on our program site, and on our digital platform.

Further information

The Films from the South Festival will have information stands in all our cinemas during the festival. Here, our volunteers will help you pick and choose between this year’s festival films and answer any practical questions you may have about the festival. Due to Covid-19, you may experience that our stands may not always be manned by our volunteers, but we will strive to keep the information and at the cinemas up to date.
