Coco Day of the Dead Hent ut fribillett

Films from the South invites audiences of all ages to celebrate Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) – a colorful and meaningful Mexican tradition that honors the lives of those we have lost. In collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico in Norway and Oslo World, we mark the occasion with film, music, dance, and family activities in the chapels at Vestre Gravlund.

The highlight of the celebration will be two festive screenings of the touching animated film COCO, a heartfelt story about family, memory, and the power of culture.

In addition to the film screenings, families can experience the inauguration of the Day of the Dead altar, dedicated to Emanuel Vigeland and designed by Lucía Díaz del Castillo, as well as take part in Mexican craft workshops, music and dance performances, face painting, and many other activities for both children and adults.

Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in their best costumes and join in celebrating life, memory, and Mexican tradition!
