On Sunday, 8 November, there will be a special screening of the documentary about the legendary Malian duo Amadou & Mariam at Cosmopolite Scene.
Before the film there will be a panel conversation with Miloud Guiderk (Artistic Director at Cosmopolite Scene), Alexandra Archetti Stølen (Oslo World) and Arne Berg.

About the film
Since the 1980s, their music has reached millions across the world. They are the faces of contemporary West African music, and while their success is impressive, their road to fame has been marked by unrest in their home country, Mali.
Against this backdrop, Amadou & Mariam's newer songs have been hymns for the dispossessed. And despite this, the duo's expression has remained optimistic, inspiring people across the globe.
This documentary follows Amadou & Mariam's success and career, culminating in a grand concert in their home country, one that would be their last.
