Owl and the Sparrow

In his debut feature, Stephane Gauger tells the story of five eventful days in the lives of three people who all try to find their place in today’s teeming Saigon. We follow the 10-year-old runaway Thuy, the zoo keeper Hai and the airline stewardess Lan – each with their own problems.

Owl and The Sparrow is both a warm and wistful story of the search for intimacy and the need to find one’s own place in a big world and about daring to take chances to make this happen. The film is well composed and its ever-moving camera gets close to the characters while capturing the constant buzz of the big city. rfa
