We Are Together
It is estimated that there are 1.2 millions orphaned children in South Africa today. This is the story of some of them. Thina Simunye is the African title of this gripping documentary directed by Paul Taylor. It means «we are together», and the song was taught to Sindile and her siblings by her mother before she died. Due to economic problems in the wake of their parents’ death, Sindile’s older siblings cannot take care of the family’s youngest ones. The orphanage of Agape, where music is central, becomes their salvation. A gem of a film that will help change your view on the AIDS issue and Africa forever. tlå
