We follow a group of tourists on a boat sightseeing trip in a fertile plantation area in Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. The guide slows the boat and points to land, where a group of Indians stand like half naked, body-painted statues. The tourists have got their Kodak Moment and the boat hurries on.

Rich plantation owners have expanded agriculture in this fertile district for generations, and the Guarani-Kaiowa Indians have been forced to settle in special reservations. One group, led by the shaman Nadio, decide to set up a tent camp outside a plantation and demand their forefathers’ land back. While young people from each side are curious about and at times fascinated by each other, the heads of the families are driven by hate and anger, and the new neighbourhood relationship meets with a tragic end. us
