Glasses
Naoko Ogigami’s film Glasses takes place in an unoccupied hotel on a lush and beautiful island and can be characterised as a slightly absurd Zen comedy. Taeko, a young urban professor, arrives at Hotel "Hamada" as the first guest for years. Since the owner has made a map after which guests are unable to navigate, she is greeted with the odd remark ”you have a talent – a talent for being here”. But being together with an inscrutable cook fond of food and a rather taciturn young teacher, Taeko doesn’t feel that she fits in. At a meditative pace, an odd story is told about the art of living a slow life: looking out at the ocean, eating lobster and paying Japanese shaved ice cream with gifts one has made oneself. hs This film will be announced by its norwegian title: Briller
