Fighter

Aicha is a Danish girl attending high school, but is not always so interested in doing well. She trains Kung Fu and this combat sport is what she lives for. At the same time, she comes from a Turkish Moslem culture where girls are not allowed to train together with boys. When her passion threatens to sever family ties, Aicha has to make a choice. Fighter is a film about finding one’s own way and identity when torn between two cultures. How does one balance between loyalty for the family and loyalty to oneself? How to keep one’s heritage and traditions in a modern society where individual freedom trumps everything else? red.
