The Judge and the General
During Pinochet’s 17-year military regime in Chile, more than 3000 of his opponents were killed or went missing. This documentary follows Judge Guzmán during the criminal investigation that started in 1998 to determine Pinochet’s role in the oppression. Through archive footage and new interviews, the historic events are presented in parallel with Guzmán’s digging. The film’s great strength lies in the witness accounts, from both sides, relatives, survivors – and a former torturer. The Judge as well will meet his former self as part of the legal system of Pinochet's time. rfa
