Revolución

In a mosaic consisting of ten short films, an all-star team of Mexican directors reflect on their home country’s last hundred years of history. To mark the anniversary of the revolution they have been given free reins, resulting in a technically and visually diverse compilation of films. Thematically, they touch on everything from the country’s dependance on the United States, to its cultural peculiarities, traditions for storytelling and religious landscape. Viewed as a whole they suggest the contours of a deeper sense of national identity, often as a humorous or philosophical juxtaposition of Mexico the way it was a century ago, and the way it is today. beg
