The Critical Room: Revolution and the Social Medias
REVOLUTION AND THE SOCIAL MEDIAS
The animated documentary The Green Wave uses excerpts from blogs, Twitter and Facebook as a basis for depicting the incidents that took place in Iran during the Green Revolution. During the revolutions in Arabic countries earlier this year, the social medias played an important part.
We ask how social medias have changed people’s awareness of global issues. How does the social medias influence public uprisings? We meet among others Eirik Solheim from NRK Beta, Torstein Nybø from Mediamente and co-producer of the documentary Burma VJ: Report of a Closed Country (2008) in a panel conversation led by Jacob Høigilt from FAFO.
