In Bed 1

One night, one room, two people. After meeting at a party Bruno and Daniela rent a hotel room. They know nothing about one another, not even each other’s names. After sex, they start talking. They soon realize that some things have changed in the way they view each other. Between truth and lies, they find a new level of intimacy. About In Bed, director Matías Bize has said: “I could’ve started with the two meeting up at the party and followed them the day after. But for me, the most important part of this story is those three or four hours in the motel.” By intensively focusing on the two actors, Bize reflects on what happens between two people who go to a hotel only to have sex. How do they interact in between their intimate moments? In Bed is beautifully shot, using a multitude of angles and a play of colours and mirrors. Bize worked closely with the two actors through improvisations to ensure the script and the dialogue appear as natural as possible. On a cheap hotel, memories and dreams, fear and desires, betrayal and honesty are tightly interconnected. But will their intimate solidarity survive the break of dawn? akek
