Although one could claim he is a relatively inexperienced director, Alejandro Brugués is a seasoned screenwriter. His directorial debut came in 2006 with the feature film Personal Belongings, and five years later he made Juan of the Dead (2011). The latter has won him several awards, among them the Audience Award in Miami and the Silver Raven in Brussels.
