Halley
The eerily beautiful film Halley owes much to the Cronenbergian «body horror» tradition. At the same time, the film is a tender depiction of confused and impossible love. Alberto is suffering from a plague that leaves his degenerating body more dead than alive. He patches his open wounds with bandages and tries to cover the stench of rotting flesh with vast amounts of perfume, but it is evident that he cannot hide his disease for much longer. Alberto decides to quit his job as night watchman at a gym, but his boss convinces him to stay another week while she finds a replacement. Unexpectedly, a connection between the two is established. htb
