Lost embrace 01

Daniel Burman is once again focusing on people searching for their identity, but this time his country's economic crisis is more in focus than usual. With irony and playful storytelling, he conveys the complexity of Argentina by using protagonist Ariel's workplace as a metaphor, which is dominated by the Makaroff family. At this small shopping centre, different stereotypes live side by side: loud and theatrical Italians, servile Koreans, the timid salesman, the risqué internet madam and the family of our protagonist whose father left the family to fight in the Yom Kippur War and finds it difficult to reconce himself to this, but perhaps the story has more than one side? Daniel Hendler won the Best Actor award in Berlin for his role as Ariel. red
