After finishing The Rainbow Thief, Jodorowsky has been self-critical and has disclaimed the movie, and the copies available were in a horrible condition that did not help its reputation, but this should now change. The magnificent backdrops and colours are a sight to behold. Consider it the family friendly version of Holy Mountain. Still this is an important film where religious-philosophical metaphors camouflage themselves as entertainment. krj
