Welcome to a South Korean culinary experience! We have the pleasure of presenting the film The Wandering Chef in Kulturkirken Jakob, in collaboration with the Embassy of South Korea. The Embassy will provide us with bibimbap and other Korean culinary surprises.

The Wandering Chef is an ode to the importance of family and to Korean food culture. It is a portrait of the chef Jiho Im, who is a Korean celebrity, and who has worked as a chef at some of the best restaurants in the country. The film deals both with his personal history and with his passion for food. We follow his restless search for a mother who left him for adoption while he was little, as well as on trips to the forest where he goes looking for roots, herbs, and plants. Also, the film depicts his close friendship with 88 year-old Kim Soon-gyo, whom he encounters on one of his trips in the Korean mountains, and whom becomes a stand-in grandmother for Jiho.

Admissions to this event starts at 18:15, and the food is served before the film, so make sure not to come with a full stomach. The bar in Kulturkirken will be open for the entire screening.

Tickets: NOK 249,- (149,- with a festival pass) can be purchased at filmfrasor.no
