This year's most talked-about Pakistani film, which premiered during the celebration of Eid this summer. Superstar is a tale set in the world of film and theatre, about the dreams of stardom. It is a drama filled to the brim with song and dance scenes, lavish costumes, and wonderful set design, but also more intimate dialogue scenes. The drama centres on Noori, a young girl from a modest background who works hard to become an actress. By chance she meets her big idol Sameer, who is a movie star. Needless to say, the fall for each other, but just as Noori is ready to embrace the life of a celebrity, she is betrayed - a reminder that the road to success is more difficult for people from the working class.

Mohammed Ehteshamuddin (b. 1965) is a director, producer, screenwriter and actor, best known for his work in TV. He has also directed several short films and features. Superstar is his biggest production to date.
