The Entity
This dark and disturbing film deftly uses horror elements to investigate dynamics within a family, and themes such as shame and guilt. Luis, a young student who has moved away from home, gets a cryptic phone call from his parents, telling him that his twin sister Manuela has died and that he must come home to attend her funeral. But something about the whole situation doesn’t add up, so Luis decides to stay home for a while to figure out what happened to his sister and why she had to die.
The family house in The Entity seems infested with evil, poisoning the mind of the whole family and drowning them in darkness. Although the family is haunted, this is not your average haunted house ghost story. Those who love you the most will also hurt you the worst.
