Office Royale

Energetic and colorful manga inspired action comedy.

Naoko only wants to be a «normal» office worker. This is hard when all the women in the office have created fractions in the workplace that are constantly at war with each other. Naoko manages to stay out of most conflicts. That is until she gets a new colleague, Ran, who quickly rises to the top of the hierarchy among her colleagues. Naoko and Ran become good friends, and Naoko is drawn unwillingly into the office wars.

Office Royale is an energetic and colorful action comedy with a plot reminiscent of fighting video games. The characters meet new opponents more powerful and absurd than the one that preceded them. Mei Nagano in the main role has a comedic talent worth following, and director Kazuaki Seki has put together a playful and fun satire strongly inspired by manga.

The screening of Office Royale on November 19th is done in collaboration with the Cinematheque in Oslo.

Director

Kazuaki Seki is a Japanese director with several years of experience from TV and music video production. Office Royale is his first feature film. The film has been screened at festivals all over the world, and won the award for best first feature at the genre film festival Fantasia Film Festival.
