The Color of Love
The Iranian-American Maryam Keshavarz is studying for a year at a university in Iran, and making a documentary. Here she meets women who navigate around the country's strict restrictions, apparently without fear.
In 2003 she returned from the US to continue her exploration of modern Iranian society through the medium of documentary cinema. As we follow three couples timidly negotiating love during Nowruz, we learn that freedom is not always what we assume it to be and that love covers areas of human existence far vaster than we imagined.
