In Abdenour Zahzah's stark black-and-white film, we meet the legendary doctor, philosopher, and author Frantz Fanon during his highly formative years as a senior physician at the Blida-Joinville Hospital psychiatric clinic in Algeria between 1953 and 1956. With completely new methods, focusing on racist and colonialist structures, he revolutionized the work at the clinic. We are given several shocking and moving insights into individual fates and how inherited structures affect the individual psyche.
