The people have spoken: The Audience Award goes to The Gravedigger's Wife!
This year's Audience Award goes to Somalia's first ever Oscar submission, The Gravedigger's Wife! The film is directed by Khadar Ayderus Ahmed and was screen in the competition program New Voices.
The Gravedigger's Wife made a clear impression during the festival, and all screenings of the film were sold out. It also won the Audience Award vote by a considerable margin.
Did you miss the film during Films From the South? The Gravedigger's Wife is now screening in cinemas, and is distributed by Mer Film. We encourage everyone to take the opportunity!
