Welcome to this year's awards ceremony at Films From the South!
At this ceremony, our wonderful juries will be presenting the awards for Main Competition, New Voices, and Doc:South.
Immediately following the awards ceremony we will be screening Abbas Kiarostami's brilliant Close-Up (1990). Through three decades of Films From the South, Kiarostami has been maybe the most important filmmaker for the festival – and on the occasion of the recent anniversary, we want to pay tribute to the Iranian film maestro with this screening. The film will be introduced by filmmaker Kaveh Tehrani and Julie Ova from the Norwegian Film Institute.
Once the film screening has finished, everyone is invited to a reception at Vega Snackbar.
