Throughout history, poetry in Latin America has been a voice of freedom, love, hope, and struggle — from Pablo Neruda and Piedad Bonnet to today’s young poets, who write from experiences of migration, Indigenous resistance, and urban life.
In this half-hour session, audiences will gain a brief insight into Colombia’s political and cultural landscape today, before poets with roots in Latin America, now based in Oslo, share their work. The event concludes with a collective writing exercise inspired by the film’s themes.
In collaboration with Latin-Amerikagruppene i Norge (LAG), with participation from Juan Grajales (Colombia), Xavier Valverde (Bolivia), and Lina Alvarez Reyes (Colombia).
