In connection with the screening of THE BLUE TRAIL (BLÅ SPOR) at Vega Scene on Friday, November 7, the film’s director, Gabriel Mascaro, will take part in a conversation after the screening.

The conversation will be moderated by Karsten Meinich from Montages.no, offering an in-depth look into the filmmaker’s career.

About Gabriel Mascaro

Gabriel Mascaro (b. 1983) is a visual artist and filmmaker from Recife, Brazil. His work is characterized by a critical interpretation of contemporary society, exploring the relationship between micropolitics and everyday life across different media such as film, installation, and photography.

His films and video installations have been presented at major festivals and art institutions, including Venice, IDFA, Locarno, Toronto, Rotterdam, MoMA, Oberhausen, Clermont-Ferrand, the Guggenheim, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, Panorama da Arte Brasileira at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, and the São Paulo Art Biennale.

Mascaro has participated in the Videobrasil Artistic Residency at Videoformes in France and the Wexner Center for the Arts in the United States. As a screenwriter, he has received support from the Hubert Bals Fund (Netherlands) and Cinereach (USA).

His films have won more than 50 awards. In April 2016, a retrospective of his work was presented at the Lincoln Center in New York.
