Film & Concert // URBAN GIRL ORCHESTRA
This unique film experience will be accompanied by North Korea-inspired music performed live by the URBAN GIRL ORCHESTRA:
KJETIL MØSTER
An award-winning and critically acclaimed saxophonist, composer, and highly sought-after collaborator across an exceptionally wide range of artists — from Röyksopp and Robyn to Lars Vaular, Kamelen, Gaahls Trelldom, BIT20 Ensemble, Bernhoft, and Gard Nilssen’s Supersonic Orchestra.
He is the bandleader of the genre-defying group MØSTER!, described as “a profound mix of jazz and psychedelic rock” (Tidal Magazine). He also runs the record label Action Jazz.
FREDRIK SAROEA
Vocalist, songwriter, and frontman of the well-known band Datarock, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this autumn with a nationwide tour dedicated to their debut album and international breakthrough Datarock Datarock (2005).
The band received much praise for their latest studio album Media Consumption Pyramid in 2023, including this review from GAFFA:
“80s vibes, post-punk, and sci-fi dystopia – Datarock has created a musical experience that could easily work as a rock opera.”
Saroea also runs the record label Young Aspiring Professionals, which this autumn is releasing From North Korea with Love – Music from the film NORTH SOUTH MAN WOMAN.
MORTEN TRAAVIK
Director, artist, and author with a long list of internationally renowned and often controversial projects to his name – including a years-long cultural exchange with North Korean artists and performers, which resulted in the documentary LIBERATION DAY (2016), about when he organized the first rock concert in the closed country.
His latest feature documentary, NORTH SOUTH MAN WOMAN, has its Oslo premiere at Films from the South.
