Body from Thailand is part of the well-known horror film tradition from East and South-East Asia, where supernatural phenomena created by horrifying visual effects and sudden noises make us shudder. Japanese films like Ringu, The Grudge and One missed call seem to be the inspiration for director Paween Purikitpanya, yet the debutant is not afraid of going his own ways.

Body is not simply a horror movie but also has the surprising effects of enigmatic murder mysteries and psychological thrillers as we know them from Hollywood. The East Asian flavour is nevertheless unmistakable and Puritkitpanya and his special effects team offer spectacular violence and other shocking events.
