Harvest
Harvest was screened during the Rotterdam Film Festival this year and is inspired by the Canadian reggae band Psycho Key. Jahweve has spent his entire life on the island of St. Lucia but dreams of the world beyond it, like the one he has seen on TV. He wants to travel abroad and become a popular musician. As a farmer and Rastafarian, his only possibility is to grow marihuana to survive, but military helicopters are constantly looking for plantations. In a dream he sees himself leave the island in search of a new life as a musician. After having harvested his plants, he escapes in a small boat to the French island of Martinique. There he aims to sell his marihuana and use the money to realise his dreams. But not everything will turn out as easy as in the dream ...
