To See If I´m Smiling

Israel is the only country in the world with compulsory military service for women aged 18 to 20. In this award-winning film by Tamar Yarom we hear the testimony of six of these women, stationed in Gaza and at the West Bank. They describe their experiences of the conflict zone: the feeling of being dehumanised, the need to hide their femininity and the deep scars that the mentality of war leave in their lives.
