Red Heart

Nineteen-year-old Shirin is in love with Soran, but they cannot express their love for each other until he has asked her father for her hand in marriage. Her father is a very dominating partriarch, however, and after her mother’s death Shirin has had noone to take her side. Her father wishes to remarry, but his bride-to-be insists on one condition: Shirin must marry her son, ”Mad” Qala. Shirin tries to protest, but her pleas are left unheeded. In desperation she decides to run away to the city with Soran on his motorcycle, in the hope of finding a better life. hh
