Gulabi Gang
En kraftfull dokumentar om kvinners kamp for rettferdighet i India. Gulabi betyr «rosa» på hindi, og gruppen styrker kvinner og beskytter dem mot vold og undertrykkelse.
Gulabi Gang is a powerful and engaging documentary about a women’s group in Uttar Pradesh, India. The women are fighting for a more just and respectful daily life and world. Murders occur frequently in India, and the men who commit these acts often get away with it time and time again...
The women seek change and the opportunity to stand up for themselves and those around them. The inspiring activist Sampat Pal has formed Gulabi Gang. Their uniforms are pink saris, and they are equipped with matching sticks. Gulabi Gang fights against violent husbands, corrupt policemen, politicians, and judges. They fight for their fellow women and win—again and again. The group started with a handful of women and has grown into a movement of more than 150,000 pink-clad members fighting for their freedom. The documentary is honest, heartwarming, inspiring, and eye-opening.
