A Thousand Months
A charming mosaic of stories and personalities from a remote Moroccan village. Mehdi’s father is a political prisoner, but the boy is unaware of this. His mother and grandfather, with whom he lives, tell him that his father is living and working in France. The small family lives in a drought-stricken village in the Moroccan countryside, and times are tough. As the holy month of Ramadan once again begins, the whole village prays for rain. Mehdi himself is determined to try fasting for the first time on the day before the 27th night of the month – the Night of Destiny. It is said that all good deeds count more than usual on this night, and that God may grant the wishes of those who worship. Will little Mehdi’s prayers be heard? kej
