Total darkness and the nightly sound of crickets set the mood in this South Korean film. Sleepless Night is about a young married couple, Hyon-soo and Joo-hee. They are in their thirties and have been married for two years. The film shows the couple in their day–to–day life. Through the exchange of looks and small signs of affection, the intimacy between them is obvious. However, they are concerned about the future and whether to have children or not. This is a realistic and universal film, following an ordinary couple through both harmony and uncertainty. ibh
