Haider
In this modern adaption of Shakespeare's Hamlet, we meet Haider, a young man returning home to Kashmir, after receiving the news of his father's death. Not only does Haider learn that security forces detained his father for giving militants shelter, but his mother is in a relationship with his own uncle. An intense drama follows when Haider learns that his uncle killed his father. This is the third film in Vishal Bhardwaj's Shakespeare-trilogy, succeeding Maqbool (2003), based on Macbeth, and Omkara (2006), based on Othello. Bhardwaj himself has composed the music, while the award-winning Gulzar has written the lyrics. red
