Of Good Report
We understand quickly that Parker Sithole is not normal when he is standing in a field with teeth protruding from a wound in his head. Without uttering a single word we see him get hired as high school teacher. Chance gets him involved with the school's beauty queen. He is soon consumed by desire for her, and when he can't have her, no skeletons, but an old lady comes out of the closet.
Of Good Report is a raw and bloody affair, a psychotic homage to film noir. The director insists that you judge this as a film, not as a film made by a black South-African. This film is neither political nor politically correct, it's a pitch black neo-noir made to unleash "anarchy, mayhem, and dissent to a sleeping film industry", as Qubeka puts it. gil
Suitable for audiences above 15 years of age.
The multi-talented Jahmil X.T. Qubeka has previously written the screenplay, edited and directed A Small Town Called Descent (2010) and the short Shogun Khumalo Is Dying! (2006). In addition, he has produced the documentary Zulu Meets Jazz and the feature film uMalusi (both 2008).
