The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow takes place in an absurd fairy tale-like universe where everything, yes, everything can happen! A satellite can talk, a roll of toilet paper can conceal a mighty wizard, and people can be transformed into animals if they suffer heartbreak. The latter has happened to young Kyung-Chun. He has been turned into a milk cow, but with the help of satellite girl, Il-Ho, and the wizard, Merlin, he might just be able to find his way back to his human self again.

This movie is colourful, playful and not afraid to appear childish, when necessity calls. Writer/director Hyeong-yoon Jang manages, with a healthy dose of charm, to seamlessly juggle epic action and slapstick comedy. The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow is a unique animated feature with visual summersaults that rival those of Hayao Miyazaki at his very best.

Hyeong-yoon Jang (b. 1975) is a South-Korean writer/director. He is known for short films like Wolf Daddy (2005), which won the Hiroshima Prize in the same year, and for mixing dark themes with absurd humour. The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow (2014) is his second full-length film, and has been shown at festivals in cities like London and Seattle.
