The Darkness
The world seems to have come to a complete standstill in The Darkness. An eerie fog lies over the forest where 12 year-old Argel lives with his father, older brother, and younger sister. Argel has lived in these woods all his life, and has learned to fear whatever lurks out there, behind the trees.
All Argel knows about the world outside is what his father has told him, and he must follow strict rules in order to survive. When his big brother suddenly disappears, Argel decides it’s time to break some of those rules and find out what has happened to his brother.
Told exclusively from Argel's perspective, The Darkness is a sparse, highly efficient film that elegantly walks the line between intense horror and latent discomfort. Director Daniel Castro Zimbron manages to create a genuinely claustrophobic film, topped with masterful acting from everyone involved. Andreas Veie-Rosvoll
