Hard Paint

Like a Grace Jones concert in a dark bedroom, dancing, with his naked body covered in neon paint, we meet young Pedro. He shows his body to gay men on webcam. Outside Internet, the young man is shy and timid, after being bullied for years. However, online he is a star, until a rival appears and threatens his position. Hard Paint proves the two directors’ talent for coming-of-age portraits. Its quite explicit depiction of Pedro’s sexual adventures works as an interesting contrast to Pedro’s confined personality in the society.

Filipe Matzembacher (b. 1988) and Marcio Reolon (b. 1984) are both born in Porto Alegre in Brazil, where Hard Paint takes place. Together they have written and directed several films as well as the critically acclaimed TV series The Nest. Reolon is also an actor, and has been featured in several films in his home country.
